Fortune of the latest Alto seem to opposite of what SuzukiFan expecting before it launch (May be the same with peoples at Suzuki too).The car have many good factors to be the big hit in India but it sale very dissapoint for just around 1,000 unit per month but the sale in China is better than everyone expect at nearly 5,000 unit regularly every month.

SuzukiFan don’t know why, until Suzuki China said in the press release that the car is a great and well reputable small car in China.Suzuki tols us that the Alto is only in its class that rank in “Chinese 10 Best Engines” for two consecutive years(2010, 2011).They say that Alto has been a leader of models in the domestic mini vehicle market in the country and it has an excellent quality reputation and high value retention released by the JDPower Asia Pacific 2011 China Initial Quality study which have been the segment champions.

So,When the car get midcycle updates or minorchage,it got the spyshot from land of the dragon.As many engineer from China work closely with team from India and Japan to bring it to latest freshest.The car will get big cosmetic change start from new front light that change from curvy water drop to more angular and handsome Shape.While the grille and bumper is camour with black plastic.

At rear the same shape of taillight remain but will add a LED light,The bumper is all new cover with sporty black plastic mold that similar to the diffuser.Inside the, will get the black interior instead of beige colour but styling is stay the same.

It will launch in China by 2012.After that,India launch of next generation Alto/A-star in early 2014 and European launch of next gen Alto in may of the same year .China likely to get old model selling along new model that will develop from Regina concept (It’s should call Regina in production version too).

Rumor also surfaced that Maruti will add boot to the A-star in 2013.If this true,They will likely to sale current A-star beyond next year that means new Alto or A-star that schedule’s to arrive in 2014 must find the new name and Regina will be in consideration.

It has been confirmed that next generation of Maruti Suzuki 800 will discontinue the 800 name and receive new name.Amoung the rumour that currently surface,the replacement may called Cervo.And, The car is not relative to Japanese Suzuki Cervo that forward in many Email in the recent year.

The 800 replacement will be new develop car and will have price around 2-3.5 lakh.Power by 800 CC petrol that develop from Alto F8D engine.It will, at the same time,replace Alto when it arrive as many unformal source say that Suzuki will get rid of 800 CC version of Alto and left only the Alto K10.The Maruti Suzuki 800 replacement will arrive by november 2012

“Alto’s (both 800cc and K10) production has declined to less than 1,100 a day from a peak of 1,500,” an executive at one of the part suppliers said. Maruti Suzuki is expected to give us a higher (part) supply schedule for the new car as it expects sales to grow after the (Maruti Suzuki 800 replacement) launch,” the executive said.

Another update news is supplier said that Maruti Suzuki is developing the new Alto on its existing platform, it will be “a completely new car.”SuzukiFan expect it to arrive around two year.

In mid November 2011,SuzukiFan got rumour from Japan that the Regina concept that debuted in 2011 Tokyo motor show will transform to Suzuki new compact hatchback.But after consideration with the source, the latest information is…,The Regina or the same car dubbed as G70 when display at 2012 Geneva auto show, will preview next generation Suzuki Alto or A-star ( As they call in India)

The confirmed news is the Alto replacement will arrive in early 2014.

The current Alto/A-Star got different fate than Suzuki planed.In some countries/region (Europe and India) it sale fewer than expect but it in some countries, it surprisingly sell a lot more than Suzuki predict. That means,There’re some criteria need to be improve.

India car market is now one of the fastest growth in the world.Every top maker is coming to India and take a share of around 2 million (and expending) automotive market.’Maruti Suzuki,the local arms of Suzuki motor Japan now is sell one of every two car in India in plans around 20 new model by 2016 in order to retain leadership.

I V Rao, chief executive, research and development said that Maruti Suzuki used to entire rely on Suzuki Motors, Japan for technology and products. However with an R&D base being established at Rohtak by 2014, the company can rely on its engineers in India to spin off some facelifts. Thus Maruti Suzuki will invest Rs. 1500 crore on product development till 2016.

Suzuki fan have a lot to say today,First The upcoming 2012 Indian Auto Expo could be when the Dzire Compact Sedan could be launched even as the RIII MPV could further see a delay to be launched only sometime in the middle of 2012.The same year wwe will see an A Star face-lift, Ritz back-lift, and next generation Alto 800 by early 2013.Suzuki fan also have very close to the production version render picture of Maruti 800 replacement.Also it’s is very close to the spyshot that we post in July.

The report mentioned that Maruti Suzuki will invest Rs 1,000-1,500 crore on product development, including its upcoming R&D at Rohtak, over the next three-five years. The Rohtak facility will be operational by the first half of 2014.

Suzuki Ertiga in Indonesia

Source from Kompas of Indonesia report that Ertiga in Indonesian market has design rear lights and front a little different from that in India and dimension will larger than Avanza but slightly smaller than the Nissan Livina.The carwill not replace slow selling APV because Suzuki plans to run together in this segment.

Interesting that The Indonesia version will not import most of part from India but it will import most part from Japan.The car should launch in themiddle of 2012 and will compete with most selling car in Indonesia,Daihatsu-Toyota Avanza-Xenia that will launch second generation at late 2011.

Suzuki start work on first own developed diesel engine

As SuzukiFan report in last december by quoting word from Shinzo Nakanishi, managing director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India that “Our engineers are developing a diesel engine for mid-sized vehicles starting with SX4. I hope we will have the first diesel engine by the middle of next year,”

It’ was an evidence that Suzuki is start develope the first diesel engine on it own since middel of 2011 as mint report that three persons with direct knowledge of the matter told them that “This is a five-year project (diesel develope), which kicked off at the beginning of this fiscal,” said one of the persons cited above. “A team of 30 engineers from India and Japan is being formed. Most of the recruitment for the project has been done. ”

The diesel engines are being developed at Suzuki Powertrain India Ltd-a 70:30 joint venture between Suzuki Motor and Maruti Suzuki-at Manesar. It manufactures diesel engines and transmissions for cars.

“The project is under the supervision of two veteran engineers from India. They hold a technical review meeting every Monday to check the development,” said the second person involved with the project. “There is no fixed investment. It is still not in full swing due to hurdles related to decontrolling of diesel in India-the largest market for Suzuki.

The same source report that 2 new engine will be develope.First, 75hp and 90 hp engine will in planed.The team is not comment on displacement but Suzukifan expect a new generation diesel engine to replace Fiat’s source 1.3 liter commonrail DDiS.Other is smaller diesel which Suzukifan source told that it will be around 1.0 liter diesel for A-segment car like A-Star and WagonR.

Last month, Suzuki also agreed to buy a 1.6-litre diesel engine(105 hp and 120 hp) from Fiat’s power unit to install in a car it will build in Hungary in 2013. The Japanese auto maker has been buying 2-litre diesel engines from Fiat Powertrain Technologies since 2006 for the SX4 made in Hungary.

“It is a long-term project and does not have a commercial motive as such. The idea is to be prepared for increasing demand of diesel cars in India and the company’s ambition in the Western market, which it thinks will revive by 2013 and where diesel still is a preferred fuel, “said the third person in the know.

Maruti Suzuki RC Bhargava interview:Hopes to boost production by 12-14% this year

Below is transcript of RC Bhargava interview with CNBC-TV18’s Latha Venkatesh and Sonia Shenoy.

Q: What is your take on the budget this year?
A: The automobile industry and I personally are quite happy with the budget. It was a good budget which contained nothing at all negative for the automobile industry and the way the finance minister has gone about suggesting all the areas where action is required, assuming that all those things happen, it will be good for the economy. The economy will grow and if that happens, the automobile sector will continue to do well.

Q: Two concerns for the auto industry are rising crude prices and with inflation concerns, a hike in interest rates may come about. How do you see these factors impacting the industry? What kind of growth trajectory do you have for this year?
A: We can do very little about the rising crude prices and therefore, the fuel prices. Our experience in the past has been that there is no long-term impact on the sale of cars as a result of the increase in fuel prices. For Maruti, personally, I believe, this will not be a bad thing at all. People will prefer more and more fuel efficient cars. Therefore, the smaller car market will get a boost out of it, if anything at all happens because of a fuel price hike.
As far as inflation and the consequences of inflation on demands and interest rates, interest rates have already peaked. I believe there is not going to be much change upwards in interest rates nor in the coming months. With this kind of rates of interest, I don’t think there is going to be much impact on the sale at all.

Q: There are a lot of expectations that the volume targets may be lower in FY12 compared to what we did in FY11? What are your volume targets for this year?
A: Our major constraint this time is not going to be the demand in the market, but the capacity to produce. We are running at full stretch. The second line at Manesar will be completed in the second half of this year. That will help us increase production. Other than that there is nothing much in the way of extra capacity which is coming in this year.
With that happening probably we can at best increase production this year by around 12-14%. The exact number will get determined when we have our board meeting on March 25 which will determine next year’s budget and plan.

Q: For the next line of production that comes up at Manesar, how much would you be pumping in, in terms of capex?
A: Capex we are spending of course on completing the second line at Manesar. Work is also going on, on the third line at Manesar. That line is a Rs 2,000 crore line which will be spread over this year and next year. The research and development (R&D) center work will continue where we will make investments.
We will also continue to make investments in the marketing infrastructure which means setting up regional stockyards for cars, spare parts distribution centers, regional offices etc. The exact number of the budget for the capex will only be available to you after the budget meeting March 25.

Q: What is the focus for Maruti in FY12-13 going to be? Is it going to be largely domestic, which means your dependence on the yen is likely to go down?
A: No, the market to which we have to cater is certainly the domestic market and that’s the fastest growing market. We cannot, not cater to the domestic market, which is our main market. The yen is not related to this.
The dependence on the yen is related to localization of component, not only by us but by our vendors because they are a bigger importer of components than we are. They have to localize to reduce the dependence on the yen but otherwise a large part of our sales will always be in the domestic market.

Q: Is your delivery for Kizashi on track and what is the expected sales target for FY12?
A: Our schedule for delivery of Kizashi is from the middle of March and we are on schedule to start delivering. The amount of cars that we can deliver depends on what we receive from Japan. There is a lead time because we have to order first then it gets produced and then it gets shipped. It’s not something which we can ramp up on short notice. Possibly, there will be a slight shortage for sometime to come. I can’t say that there will not be a waiting time or shortage for this car for some months in the near future.
