The agreement with Volkswagen and suzuki cooperation. The first ideas that begin to form is about to create urban croosover . the car will be Nissan Juke competitor and Would be based on the next generation of Suzuki SX4 that suzuki was planed to hit market early 2012 ( date of release may be change whem VW buy stake in Suzuki), as the current car is Suzuki build in Hungary and China.
The current car is sent as OEM to fiat to sell as Fiat Sedici but when Fiat have agreement with Crysler they will build thier own sedici replacement

Actualy now Volkswagan have their B-segment crossover call Cross Polo that position same as SX4 autoten.com suggest that Suzuki may upsize, up price and upgrade quality of the new SX4 about 2,000-3,000 euro per varient.

The Volkswagen version of suzuki SX4 will be name Volkswagan Rocktan
but this name may change after that . Currently in Wolfsburg is researching what is necessary to meet a 5-star crash test . consider their own engines under the hood to fit. Examples include the 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI 140hp diesel units and the 1.4 TSI with 122 hp. the car will compet with other compact crossovers like the Nissan Juke and Toyota Urban Cruiser

Some media report that the car will also compet with the Nissan Qashqai which have amazing sales, Nissan actually can not keep up production. The idea is to produce the car with a common platform for both to save costs, Volkswagen would benefit from cooperation at the level of industrial development, Suzuki is more likely in the mechanical field

In order to regain its market share in the Indian auto industry, Maruti Suzuki has launched SX4 Royale. With the launch of new cars, Maruti has for the first time ever seen its market share drop below 50% since it was launched.

Maruti Suzuki decided to launch special variant of it’s biggest car that current sell in India,SX4,is the 6th car they have launched this month.

The model has been launched in two variants VXi and ZXi where VXi is a fully loaded model featuring body-coloured door moulding with Silver finished handles, EBD, ABS, Dual SRS airbags, fog lamps, Alloy Wheels, Audio controls on steering wheel and Automatic climate control system.

The ZXi misses some of these features but flaunts new seat covers, gear knob and leather clad steering wheel. There are two new colour options of Oyster Blue & French Eclair which makes the SX4 available now in seven colours.

Maruti Suzuki Launched five new models with CNG option

As it battles rising competition, Maruti Suzuki drove in five new models with CNG option, including its best-seller Alto. The company will offer factory-fitted CNG cars, and the models are priced at a premium of about Rs 50,000 to the petrol-only version. Maruti’s market share slipped below 50% after the launch of compacts from Ford, Volkswagen and GM.

Apart from the Alto LXi (Rs 3.23 lakh), other models to sport CNG option are Estilo LXi (Rs 4.05 lakh) and WagonR LXi (Rs 4.11 lakh), Eeco 5-seater multipurpose (Rs 3.64 lakh) and SX4 VXi sedan (Rs 7.47 lakh).

The CNG variants are priced approximately Rs 50,000 to Rs 90,000 more than their non CNG versions, but it is the first time that the kits are being fitted at the factory. The advantages of a factory fitment are they are safer, covered under warranty and suffer minimal power loss.

“CNG offers lower running cost of up to 60 per cent while it ensures lower import of oil and also lower emission levels,” said Shinzo Nakanishi, managing director and CEO, MSIL.

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its flagship CNG engine technology dubbed ‘intelligent-Gas Port Injection’ technology’ or i-GPI. This technology will be implemented on five models.

The technology is a dual engine control unit that delivers gas to the engine to ensure improved and consistent performance under a variety of driving conditions. The quantity of compressed natural gas required for different driving conditions is controlled by the dedicated unit which offers more efficient fuel usage.

It also means there is more power when compared to retrofitted compressed natural gas vehicles and there is a peppier ride more reminiscent of a petrol engine.
Each vehicle has passed quality checks and customers will enjoy the full warranty benefits, including an extended warranty.
The Government of India has committed to developing a network of compressed natural gas stations across the country in an effort to reduce the reliance on foreign fossil fuels.

Currently there are 9.4 lakh CNG cars in the country with around 600 outlets, where as other countries such as Pakistan has over 3,000 filling stations and around 50 per cent of all vehicles are run on CNG.

Suzuki has face-lifted its SX4 crossover and reintroduced a four-wheel-drive model to the range.

The range-topping SZ5 models are available with a 119bhp 1.6-litre VVT petrol engine for £14,235 or a 133bhp 2.0-litre DDiS diesel for £15,995.

The 1.6-litre takes the car from 0-62mph in 11.5 seconds, and on to 109mph. It emits 165g/km of CO2 and returns an average of 39.2mpg. The diesel is slightly faster with 0-62mph in 11.2 seconds and a top speed of 112mph. Average economy improves to 51.4mpg and CO2 emissions drop to 143g/km.

Three settings
The i-AWD four-wheel-drive system has three drive modes. In Automatic, the SX4 operates as a front-wheel-drive car until traction is lost, at which point torque is automatically sent to the rear wheels.

In Lock mode the system permanently sends power to the rear wheels up to 40mph, after which it enters Automatic mode. Drivers will also be able to select full-time two-wheel drive for maximum fuel economy.

SZ5 trim includes six airbags, front and rear electric windows, climate control, keyless entry and start, alloy wheels, privacy glass, cruise control and six speed manual gearbox.

Suzuki’s SX4 is a distinctive five-door hatchback that blends the characteristics of sporty compacts exemplified by the Swift, with those of lightweight SUVs such as the Grand Vitara, to create an exciting small car alternative.

The UK line-up now offers three ‘SZ’ grades and two engine options – one diesel and one petrol. The 120PS 1.6-litre VVT petrol engine is available in either SZ3 or SZ4 2WD (front-wheel drive) specification or as a 4×4 SZ5 model with selectable/automatic four-wheel drive. The latest 2.0-litre DDiS 4×4 is available as an SZ5.

All models have a bold SUV appearance with wheel arch extensions, side under protection mouldings and front and rear skid plates.

Specification

SX4 is well equipped as standard with the SZ3 offering six airbags; remote central locking with deadlocks, air conditioning, MP3 / WMA compatible CD tuner with eight speakers, four electric windows, driver information display and illuminated steering wheel mounted audio controls.

The SZ4 model adds fog lamps; 16-inch alloy wheels, side body protection and heated door mirrors as well as keyless entry and start; dashboard centre speaker and automatic air conditioning.

The top of the range SZ5 1.6-litre petrol adds i-AWD (intelligent – All-Wheel Drive) and rear privacy glass with the 2.0 DDiS also including cruise control and six speed manual transmission as additional standard equipment.

This new diesel engine offers high power and strong torque of 320Nm at just 1,500rpm. It is Euro 5 compliant and has an output of 135PS at 3,500rpm, achieving 51.4mpg on the combined fuel consumption cycle with emissions of 143g/km.

The 2.0-litre DDiS incorporates various technologies to aid performance and reduce environmental impact; these include a water cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system which is deactivated during warm up to help reduce emissions and a closed coupled diesel particulate filter (DPF) which enables more effective emission purification. This is achieved by locating the catalyst and DPF close to the turbocharger, keeping the exhaust gas temperature high until it gets purified in the DPF system.

Double pilot injection is also utilised for quieter operation, more precise fuel metering as well as helping lower NOx emissions. This engine also features a six speed manual transmission to take advantage of its torque potential and features triple cone synchromesh for smoother shifting.

i-AWD (intelligent – All Wheel Drive)

Three-mode AWD system with Electric Control Coupling Device
The signature feature of the Suzuki SX4 4×4 is the i-AWD switchable three-mode all-wheel drive system. A simple to operate Electric Control Coupling Device allows the driver to select 4WD-Auto, 4WD-Lock, and 2WD modes to suit driving conditions, giving excellent traction on low grip surfaces.

In 4WD-Auto mode in normal driving conditions there is no torque transfer to the rear wheels, so the SX4 effectively operates as a front-wheel drive vehicle. As soon as any pronounced front wheel slip is detected, torque is automatically apportioned to the rear wheels to give all-wheel traction and improve vehicle stability.

4WD-Lock mode maintains full traction up to around 40mph, before automatically switching to 4WD-Auto mode for smooth cruising. Selecting 2WD (drive through the front wheels) optimises fuel economy.

Maruti Suzuki, India’s No.1 car maker is gearing up to launch five cars with factory fitted CNG kits during the second week of August 2010. This aggressive move reflects Maruti’s commitment to better environment as well as to stay ahead of competition among its rivals.
Maruti will launch CNG variant of Alto, Estilo, Wagon R, Eeco and Sx4. According to MSI Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava, the CNG models will be very important inMaruti’s portfolio. Maruti Suzuki is the first company to come out with factory-fitted CNG cars and Maruti will have the first mover’s advantage in the market.

Maruti will launch all the five CNG cars on a single day in the second week of August because there is no particular segment for CNG cars unlike other models, which can be specified into different strata and this is a launch of ‘ factory fitted CNG’ technology and not cars. Besides the launch of five CNG versions, Maruti will launch Alto K10, a new variant of Alto with 998 cc K series engine.

Maruti to resume sale of LPG version of Duo till time new WagonR LPG gets ready

Maruti also informed that it is very unlikely that the LPG version of new WagonR will be ready to deliver into the market this year and therefore decided to resume the sales of Duo with LPG.

It is clear that Maruti Suzuki does not want to loose on sale of its LPG variant until the new version gets ready. It is also interesting to know that Duo was contributing about 20-22 percent of total WagonR sales which is 10,000-12,000 units per month. Maruti made an announcement of its decision to resumes the sales of Duo LPG and Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said, “We are now selling the ‘Duo’ and it will continue till the LPG variant of the new WagonR is ready. The work on new LPG is going on.”

Though Maruti had earlier made it clear that the company will stop the production of Duo and any decision to launch the LG variant of the new WagonR will depend entirely upon the market demand. And now it seems that Maruti has found all the good reasons to launch new WagonR in LPG and resume the sales of Duo with LPG version.

Monster Tajima wins Pikes Peak yet again!

For the fifth consecutive time, Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima combined experience, skill and Falken to claim overall victory in the 88th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Although he did not set a new record with his latest win, achieved one day before his 60th birthday, Tajima continues to hold the current overall record for reaching the peak, beating hill climb veterans Paul Dallenbach and Rhys Millen in the Unlimited Class

Tajima’s win may be impressive but it fails to topple his 2007 record of 10:01.408. Like what he had in 2009, Tajima drove a customized machine, which bears a slight similarity to the stock Suzuki SX4. The 2010 model got several aerodynamic enhancements and had the power of the twin-turbocharged 3.1-liter V-6 boosted by 25hp to 910hp. On the other hand, Millen drove the 715hp PM 580, which only got him a time of 11:06.208, giving him a third place finish behind Paul Dallenbach, who had a time of 10:39.534. It can be recalled that in 1994, Rod Millen set a record time on Pikes Peak of 10:04.06, which Tajima beat in 2007.

Maruti Alto, Wagon R, SX4 to get CNG kits in 2010

Alto, WagonR and SX4 will be some of the top-selling Maruti Suzuki models to sport a CNG engine this year as India’s largest carmaker looks at alternate fuel technology to build a more environment-friendly fleet for the Indian market.

Aiming to retain its 50% market share, Maruti will launch new compressed natural gas (CNG)-fired versions of these vehicles that will be priced at a premium of around 15-20%. All these cars will come packed with a new technology that will be factory-fitted, unlike most other petrolpowered vehicles in the country at present which are retrofitted.

“It’s our answer to green technology that will also be most fuel-efficient auto fuel in India, blending the benefits of gasoline engine power at the cost of the CNG,” said IV Rao, managing executive officer (engineering) at Maruti Suzuki.

Maruti is using an in-house developed i-GPI (intelligent gas port injection) technology that will give the option of driving with either petrol or CNG as fuel. Mr Rao said it will be the only factory-fitted computer controlled gas distribution system to be integrated into the petrol engines using injectors to fire gas directly into engine eliminating any loss of power.

Carmakers at present use venturi type CNG technology in products such as Hyundai Accent, General Motors’ Spark or Toyota’s Innova that faces around 15% loss of power when these vehicles are driven on CNG. Maruti will import the injectors from US, which will make the products dearer but still less than the hybrid cars in the country. The ex-showroom price of Toyota’s Prius in Delhi is Rs 26.5 lakh. Maruti preferred to use CNG as a fuel for i-GPI as it is cheaper than electric and other forms of hybrid engines.

Analyst tracking the sector remain optimistic on the CNG fuel strategy adding volumes for Maruti. “Initiatives from the government in the form of better availability of alternative fuels and tax rebates on green technology would push up sales,” said Sumit Arora, associate director at Synovate Motoresearch.

Just 3-years old in 2010, the Suzuki SX4 is a hatchback/sedan option which targets the economy driver who is interested in the all-wheel drive option for a vehicle so small. A large and spacious cabin is filled with plenty of features and amenities and, unfortunately, a rather uncomfortable set of front seats.
Performance

There is a new sheriff in town this year with the Suzuki SX4 when it comes to the engine. All trims get a new 2.0 liter that generates seven more horsepower than last year’s model at 150. Better that the extra horses are the new transmission options available on the SX4 – a six-speed manual or a CVT which serve as more than excellent replacements for the five-speed manual and four-speed auto transmissions on previous year’s model.

No sports car by any stretch of the imagination, the new engine in the Suzuki SX4 is stronger than most of its competitors, but it has to be to make up for all that extra roomy interior and the car’s heavier curb weight. Acceleration is decent and the ride is smooth on most surfaces, giving minimal body roll around the corners.

Exterior Features

Available as either a sedan or hatchback, the 2010 Suzuki SX4 offers a standard or Sport in the sedan body and the hatchback offers a “Crossover” and “Sportback” trim. Those looking for the all-wheel drive option available on the SX4 will want to stay away from both of the sedan models and look to the Crossover, which is the only one of the four which offers it.

The exterior styling of the SX4 belies the fact that it is a Suzuki, though the Sportback model styling is apt to remind one strongly of the Toyota Matrix with its roof spoiler and large rear end with a body frame that arches toward the back and ends abruptly.
Interior Features

An 8-spekaer AM/FM CD audio system with 6-disc changer is standard on the higher-end Sportback GTS model, all others will have to pay for the privilege. Where the SX4 does better than the competition, is in packing in a few extra features that you don’t usually find on economy cars: even the base model includes full power windows and doors, a height-adjustable driver seat, and tilt steering wheel. Stepping up just a bit to the next model adds a navigation system, and the next step gives foglights and a rear spoiler to the exterior.

With an interior that is clean and well-designed, almost showing off in the photos, the spacious cabin of the Suzuki SX4 is one of its greatest assets. Plenty of headroom is great in the front and back, but the legroom can be a bit tight for those rear passengers, especially if they are adults. The hatchback offers 60/40-split rear seats which can fold forward and make available a startling 54 cubic feet of cargo space.

Safety & Specifications

All 2010 Suzuki SX4s come equipped with antilock disc brakes, side curtain airbags, and front-seat side airbags. The Sport GTS sedan, Sportback and Crossover also include traction and stability control.

For car safety, the government crash tests on the SX4 rated a mixture of four or five star ratings for front and side impacts for both the driver, front passenger and rear passengers. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the Suzuki SX4 as “Good”, the highest rating available.
Upgrade Options

Bluetooth technology is optional in the SX4 as well as the upgraded audio system and the navigation system which may seem small and out of place, but still has its uses. Also optional are the keyless ignition/entry system and automatic climate control. 16-inch or 17-inch wheels can be purchased depending on the trim model.
Improvements from the 2009 Suzuki SX4

Some of the navigation features are new for the 2010 SX4 as well as the height-adjustable driver seat, the restyled fascia, continuously variable transmission (SVT) or six-speed manual options, a new instrument cluster and a firmer suspension . Not a complete overhaul, but certainly enough to give last year’s browsers reason enough to take a second look at the SX4 for 2010.
How the Suzuki SX4 Compares to Other Affordable Small Cars

The Kia Forte tops the list of competitors for the SX4 this year, also offering a wide array of standard features, better gas mileage and more comfortable seats for just a few hundred dollars more than the SX4. The Nissan Versa, costing $3,000 less than the SX4 doesn’t have as many standard features, but does give better gas mileage and more comfortable seats in the ear. Honda’s Fit costs about $1,000 less, has much more versatile cargo space and offers better fuel economy as well.
Conclusion: Is the 2010 Suzuki SX4 a Good Buy?

A great all-whether vehicle for those who need one but don’t have a lot to spend on an SUV, a fully-laden 2010 SX4 can provide many of the features of an entry-level SUV for about the same price. The IntelliChoice 5-Year Cost of Ownership is not yet available for the Suzuki and there are significant enough changes from the 2009 model so that comparing car safety, car insurance and other specs wouldn’t exactly be fair.

Suzuki’s limited warranty for new vehicles is a pale and unimpressive 36 month/36,000 mile variety but the extended powertrain warranty is impressive, showing their full-faith and confidence in their engine designs. The competition for the 2010 Suzuki SX4 is – well – the competition, and does not either completely outdo the SX4 or is outdone by it.

Suzuki updates SX4 for 2010, launches new engine for UK

Suzuki has announced a revised version of its SX4 crossover for the 2010 model year. Although the announcement was made by Suzuki’s UK arm, it is believed the interior and exterior changes to the SX4 will surface in America.

Suzuki says the SX4 has been revised for 2010 with “numerous styling and interior changes”, but the update appears to be a minor refresh, at best. Up front, the SX4 gets a slightly revised front fascia, including a larger lower grille and new fog lights. There doesn’t appear to be any changes to the SX4’s rear.

Inside, the SX4 gets a little more spit and polish with a new center stack and instrument cluster. The center stack now features a new display, showing audio, air conditioning and other controls. SZ4 models also receive illuminated rings around air conditioning controls.

The SX4’s revised instrument panel now features a driver information display, giving the driver access to average and instantaneous fuel consumption, fuel range and outside temperature. Steering wheel-mounted controls feature illumination for 2010 for better usability.

The big news for the 2010 SX4 – at least in the UK market – is the addition of a new 1.6L gas engine. The Euro 5 compliant four-pot features a new variable valve timing and variable intake system, increasing driving response while lowering overall emissions. Rated at a respectable 120 horsepower (13 more than the outgoing model), the new engine achieves 45.6mpg in front-drive applications, representing a 10 percent improvement. All-wheel drive models are rated at 43.5mpg.

It remains to be seen if the new 1.6L will make the trek across the pond – the U.S.-spec SX4 uses a more powerful 2.0L unit – but it remains possible the new mill could join Suzuki’s SX4 lineup in an entry-level role.
New trims For UK in 2010

The new trims start with SZ3 and rise through SZ4 and SZ5, with even the most basic version getting six airbags, remote central locking, air-conditioning and four electric windows. SZ4 adds foglamps, alloy wheels and side mouldings, with climate control and keyless entry and start on petrol models.

Top-of-the-range SZ5 trim is reserved for the four-wheel drive petrol-engined model that goes on sale in April. The drive system incorporates three modes: two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and automatic. Also unique to this trim is a six-CD changer.

More efficient engines
As before, buyers have a choice of two 1.6-litre engines, one petrol and one diesel. The petrol unit has been revised, and 2WD models now average 45.6mpg – a 10% improvement over the previous unit.

The diesel engine also now achieves better economy and emissions than before – averaging 57.6mpg and emitting 129g/km CO2. However, as with the 4WD model, it doesn’t go on sale (with SZ4 trim) until April 2010.

How much?
Prices for the new range start at Pound 11,640 for a 1.6 SZ3 with a five-speed manual gearbox, with the SZ4 model at 12,255 and a four-speed automatic transmission adding just over 1000 to the price.

Suzuki Planning Return to WRC for 2011

Suzuki WRC fans have something to cheer about for the first time in four months. Yes, it’s been that long since the Japanese automaker announced it would with draw from the World Rally Championship, but now it seems they may already be planning a return.

RallyBuzz is reporting that Urmo Aava, who raced five seasons for the Suzuki team in the Junion World Rally Championship (JWRC), told the Estonian news website Postimees that Suzuki is building a new car and will “probably do a full WRC programme,” in 2011.

Aava made the comments while testing a Suzuki Swift S1600 rally car for the company’s JWRC team.

According to Aava, the new car is an S2000 spec vehicle, in keeping with the new “no-turbo” rules and while Suzuki has made no official comment since pulling out of WRC, comments were made earlier that Suzuki intended to race an SX4-based vehicle in the S2000 class.
