Suzuki may cancel Kizashi wagon but rumor a station wagon version of the Swift for Europe

Many peoples know that Suzuki is plans a station wagon and crossover styling version of Kizashi around 2013 in Europe.The plans also install diesel engine option in the car,Add more trim level and do more promotion works than what they offer right now.Current European’s Kizashi mostly market with one trime level and single engine choice.SuzukiFan don’t know why Suzuki have this limit but concerning factors may be include economic slow down and currency problem.Or lack of resources.

Early this month,A respectable source from Nedtherland report that dua to financial crisis and slow sale will made Suzuki cancel station wagon variant !!.They even said that there is no hope for improvement and will get rid of a hybrid version.Suzuki Fan don’t know where this website got that news as it has been only website report about this.

Question is,Is the sale was that bad?not really, in our opinion.Considering that 11 month sale of 2011 in Netherlands just 89 unit sold ,sit at the bottom of the sales for the D-segment.We think is not bad when considers only few attempt that Suzuki do with the Kizashi in term that how they try to sale it.In Germany,they set sell target at 500 unit this year but in 11 month, they manage to sell more than 700.In UK,the sale will start early next year with just 500 unit/year target So,not bad for first D-segment for the brand.

Don’t compare with other makers’s D-segment because they have more wider range,They have diesel,They sell it for long time but at Suzuki ‘s D-segment stories is just in beginning stage.

SuzukiFan also see China a potential country for Kizashi but they have to produce it locally. So that they can compet with the competitor.Now China’s Kizashi is import from Japan and it have more price tag than competitor which they lost customer because of this.The late 2013 or early 2014 is ideal time to make it local and price on pars with competitor. If our speculation right,they should enjoy sell around 3,000-4,000 unit per moth which it really good.But Suzuki will do it?We don’t know but let’s hope they will do.

American Suzuki’s U.S. product plans are unsettled as the Japanese parent company focuses increasingly on emerging markets.

Suzuki Motor Corp. is targeting markets such as India, where it has a strong presence. In addition, the soaring value of the yen against the dollar has put more financial strain on the company’s U.S. operations.

Meanwhile, Suzuki’s alliance with Volkswagen AG has yet to deliver any shared vehicle projects since the deal was signed in early 2010. Tensions between the companies’ leaders have made headlines in recent months, and the partnership appears to be fraying.

In the United States, the Grand Vitara gets a slight rear-end change next year and updates in 2013, and the SX4 lineup gets updated for the 2013 model year, but no Suzuki model will be redesigned or significantly restyled until 2014 at the earliest.

Swift: The subcompact was supposed to be on sale in the United States by now, but the strong yen forced Suzuki to put that plan on hold last year. Chances are slim that the Swift will arrive stateside anytime soon.

SX4: A slightly restyled 2013 version of the crossover is scheduled to go on sale in late 2012. For the 2012 model year, Suzuki eliminated three trim levels of the four-door SX4 and one trim level of the SX4 SportBack.

Kizashi: The mid-sized sedan debuted in late 2009 as a 2010 model. Assuming a five-year product life cycle, the Kizashi would be due for a midcycle freshening in the 2013 model year and a redesign in the 2015 model year.

Suzuki is gathering fuel economy and emissions data from a fleet of about 10 Kizashi mild hybrid prototypes being tested in North America. The company also is working on a turbocharged Kizashi, according to one source. Both cars were shown as concepts at the 2011 New York auto show. Neither vehicle has been approved for production.

A sport wagon configuration also is under consideration, but production depends on whether Suzuki’s European unit agrees to sell the car.

Grand Vitara: Next spring, the 2012 SUV’s rear end will get new sheet metal and the rear liftgate will be reconfigured as the spare tire is removed from the rear door. About a year later, the 2013 model’s hood, front fenders and fascia will get updates, according to sources.

Equator: The pickup is a rebadged Nissan Frontier. The truck’s future hinges on whether the product-sharing deal with Nissan continues.

In 2008,Suzukifan have bee report that the Swift will launch in USA with multiple body style.We used to predict not only a hatchback Swift but also a MPV version of the Swift.But the economic crisis in 2009 made Suzuki decide that only Swift hactback will arrive USA in 2011 and later with currency problem made Swift launch delay to 2012.So sad, the latest news above say that its may have more delay.

The SX4 is dua to get replacement in Europe in late 2012 but the above report is conflict in it self when they say in above line that no redesign Suzuki until 2014 but the below line say about new restyled 2013 version.The Grand Vitara will get minorchange before get the all new in 2014 but inEurope may be early than that.

Back in recent year,we have been told about Kizashi Hybrid that under developement.We have ever received unconfirm news from insider that the car was plan to release in 2012!!.But the economic in 2008 and VW got some share in Suzuki made release date deley from first planed.

In 2011 New York International Auto Show,Suzuki hints at future hybrid.The Kizashi Ecocharge concept preview the alternative Kizashi.The car equipped with 2.0 liter 144 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque output.and 15 horsepower of a liquid-cooled electric motor and 115-volt air-cooled lithium ion battery.Mate with 6 speed CVT.

The Kizashi EcoCharge concept’s increase fuel efficiency by as much as 25 percent over the standard Kizashi Sport.Thank to automatic engine shut-down,regenerative braking, and low-rolling resistance tires.That would take it from the 30 mpg of the current CVT Kizashi—with its 2.4-liter—to somewhere around 36 mpg.

The car styling mainly based from Kizashi Sport,Finished with ambient blue lighting ( at the brake calipers,the dashboard clusters and headlight),LED daytime runing light and pearl-white colour.

It’s still at concept stage right now ,No confirmation on release date but as we have been told, it’s should be in a few year.Something is to be discuss with VW about part’s sharing as much as possible and profitable too.

American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) unveiled a turbo concept version of its Kizashi sport sedan at the company’s 2011 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) press conference this evening. The turbocharged Kizashi Apex Concept showcases the link between Suzuki’s automotive division and its championship-winning motorcycles.

“Our turbo-equipped concept leverages the already-exceptional Kizashi platform and infuses it with a substantial boost,” said Steve Younan, director of automotive marketing and product planning, American Suzuki Motor Corporation. “The Kizashi Apex Concept will further elevate our flagship sedan in the U.S. among enthusiasts who crave added power and performance.”

More Power Under the Hood
The Kizashi Apex Concept features a Garrett turbocharger, an air-to-liquid intercooler, electronic boost control, and a specific engine control unit calibration to provide outstanding drivability. The system takes the Kizashi’s peak output into the 275-300 horsepower range, with a maximum boost of 8.5 psi. This powertrain is matched exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. Specific system components are as follows:
• Garrett/Honeywell 2871 R ball bearing turbocharger
• Internally wastegated 0.86 A/R turbine housing
• Oil and water cooled bearing system
• Turbine housing cast from high-nickel “Ni-Resist” material for extreme applications
• Turbine wheel cast from lightweight iconel materials for extreme applications

Key to the Kizashi Apex Concept’s performance is its air-to-liquid intercooler, purposed for more effective charge air cooling in a smaller package. The unit’s relatively small heat exchanger and circulation pump are designed to be minimally intrusive to vehicle cooling. The intercooler’s primary advantage comes from the reduction in the overall length of ducting, which results in faster throttle response and a lower turbo lag, giving peak boost faster than most air-to-air intercooler systems. For impressive engine
breathing, the Apex Concept utilizes a free flowing true dual exhaust system.

Race Bike Grapics
The livery on the Kizashi Apex Concept is based on the actual Suzuki superbike race design theme and highlights the vehicle’s bloodline connection to Suzuki’s GSX-R Superbike. For a more expressive front-end, the lower fascia wears customized LED-based foglights. The Apex Concept is shod with Yokohama S.Drive 245/35-R19 tires, featuring advanced nanotechnology micro-fiber compound to maximize traction in both wet and dry conditions. The wheels are lightweight performance alloys with a “burnt asphalt” finish to communicate this Kizashi turbo’s high level of performance. To make sure all this power is put to use in the right place, the Kizashi Apex Concept uses Suzuki’s Euro-spec high intensity discharge (HID) headlamps.

Suzuki Plans to debut two global models at New York Auto Show

Suzuki was report to reveal two global models at upcoming New York Auto Show (April 22-May 1).Suzuki still keep secret and only revealed little in details for the new models (or concepts).except to say that both cars will “take the Kizashi to the next level.”Suzuki fan expect they will offer turbocharged that will be an option fit by dealer or turbocharged install from the factory fro the same petrol 4 cyliner 2.4 liter engine that will increase from around 178 hp to 294 bhp if we refer to the concept that they showed at 2010 New York Auto Show.

That times,the Kizashi Turbo Concept features a 294 bhp version of J24b engine. Boost is provided by a 16G turbocharger, moderated by a Road Race motorsport.airflow through a Velocity intake. Custom engine management and new fuel injectors extract the most from the boosted airflow.

Suzukifan expect a concept/new models that can be from Wagon version of Kizashi to Small SUV to position below Sx4.Anyway stay tune for more information

Suzuki have been lanuched Kizashi in Japan and extended it to the USA, Australia and more recently parts of Europe.
Next stop is Britain and while this well-appointed model is deemed by Suzuki to be a niche product – they hope to sell around 500 – potential buyers can rest assured they will be getting a car of genuine quality and style.

Tested and tuned in areas as diverse as Death Valley and English country lanes with the precision of BMW and Audi as the benchmark, the Kizashi will only be available in a single specification with a 178PS 2.4-litre petrol engine under the bonnet.

Nor will there be any manual gearbox as the company has decided to go with an automatic CVT continuously variable transmission set-up with steering wheel-mounted paddles for manual shifts.

Suzuki is claiming an average fuel figure of 35 miles per gallon and 191g/km of CO2 for an offering that is predictably well specced up – the likes of leather upholstery, electric heated front seats, cruise control, sunroof, keyless entry, air-con, CD player and seven airbags included on every car.

The left-hand drive model available for evaluation confirmed that Kizashi is a car with the dynamic qualities and punch – 0-62 in 7.8 seconds – to match its sporty looks.

Suzuki is also considering bringing a 4×4 version of the popular Swift hatchback to Britain, a prospect sparked by increasingly bad weather over the past few winters.

The company feels that if it gets the green light this version of the Swift – already on sale in Scandinavia and Germany – will be ideal for people who don’t want a full-blown 4×4 but do fancy its capability.

Unlike the Kizashi’s i-AWD system, the Swift has permanent four-wheel drive and if it comes to Britain, expect there to be a few styling tweaks.

In updating its entire range, Suzuki has either refreshed or improved the economy of the Splash mini-MPV, SX4 crossover, Jimny 4×4 and larger Grand Vitara models.

Most notable is the funky little Splash which gets the same 92bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine that was introduced into the Swift range last September. It’s noticeably quiet at tickover, provides useful performance and can return 55.4mpg with emissions of 119g/km, the same as the 1.0-litre init.

The SX4 now has a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre DDiS diesel engine offering improved performance, better fuel economy and prices for the SZ3 1.6-litre petrol version.

And both the chunky Jimny with its cult following and the Grand Vitara now come with Euro 5 compliant engines plus reduced CO2 levels.

Suzuki has also dispensed with the rear-mounted spare wheel on the Grand Vitara, though the company is considering introducing a lower spec model for people who still want that time-honoured feature.

Suzuki UK to launch Kizashi AWD and evaluation For Swift 4×4

Suzuki could launch its first D-segment model in the UK later this year, and look to beat off rivals by offering four-wheel-drive.

The Kizashi saloon was launched last year in the USA and Japan, and has just gone on sale in Germany. Now Suzuki is evaluating it against potential rivals such as Ford Mondeo and the VW Passat, before possibly launching it in the UK towards the end of 2011.

The car is a completely new design on a new platform and is currently sold in both front and four-wheel-drive formats. However Suzuki would likely sell it in the UK as a 4X4 only, in the hope of offsetting the car’s lack of a diesel engine – a potential major disadvantage in the UK market particularly in the D segment.

According to Headline Auto, Suzuki’s UK management believes the car would still appeal to owners who do not necessarily cover high mileages, but live in hilly or poorly accessible areas.

Selling around 500 a year would make the Kizashi a viable option for UK Suzuki bosses. They also hope that a recently announced partnership with VW could lead to a diesel option for the car.

The Kizashi – the name means ‘A sign of great things to come’ in Japanese – is more compact than Ford’s Mondeo or the Vauxhall Insignia but a full Sedan with a large load area.

Evaluation For Swift 4×4 and will source Jimny’s engine from Fiat

An all-wheel-drive version of the Suzuki Swift is currently under evaluation for a UK launch later this year.
Suzuki believes there is a potential market for all-wheel-drive superminis after the bad weather Britain has experienced in recent winters.
A left-hand-drive version of the all-wheel-drive Swift is currently in the UK from Germany on a three-month evaluation period and the firm expects to announce its decision by the summer. Autocar understands that its launch is almost a given and a minimum of 500 units will be offered each year, although Suzuki believes sales of up to 1000 units are possible.

The automatic viscous controlled system sends drive to the front wheels most of the time but can also send drive to the rear as and when required. The driver will not be able to switch between permanent front- and all-wheel-drive in the cabin.
The system is available on the Swift’s 93bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine. There is a 90kg weight penalty and the car is also 25mm taller. “It’s a good proposition and gives us an opportunity for extra volume,” a Suzuki source told Autocar. “We’re hoping for extra sales in rural areas, encouraged by the recent snow.”
Suzuki will also launch a diesel version of the Swift it June. It will be powered by the previous Swift’s 1.3-litre diesel unit and will have combined economy of 67mpg and 109g/km CO2 emissions.

The sun of UK reports that When Volkswagen announced it was teaming up with Suzuki for some joint projects, initial talk centered around small cars for emerging markets and possibly even a spate of two-wheeled ventures. Now, the rumormill is buzzing with speculation that the Japanese automaker might be interested in securing some of Volkswagen’s well-regarded powerplants for its midsize Kizashi sedan.

Currently, there’s no indication what powertrains Suzuki is interested in procuring from Volkswagen, but we’d have to guess that a Diesel and V6 petrol or possibly even a hybrid would be on the menu, if possible.

However, now that Volkswagen AG holds a stake in the Japanese car company,Steven Younan Suzuki Product manager ,says to wards auto that other options, including VW engines, are being considered. The relationship with VW has yet to yield many details on collaborations, he admits, but it takes time to see where synergies lie.

“Our whole product cadence got pushed back because of this relationship,” Younan says. “We had to slowdown our process to see what we could take advantage of and what they could take advantage of. It’s taking longer than we thought.”

Since it’s lanuched in China last July.Gassoo is reporting that Suzuki have only sold 15,000 units since going on sale in China.Many media say that not impressive and Suzuki agree with that point.Suzuki is certainly struggling for profits with this product which is evident from the discounts the company has already started offering. Thanks to incentives offered by Suzuki, prices for the Kizashi can drop by as much as $28,877 to $22,791.

Now Suzuki is import Kizashi from japan to China.while higher import tariff is a weak point for Kizashi and make car prices higher than competitor like Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.

SuzukiFan thinks 15,000 units for 5-6 month period with average 2,500 unit/month is acceptable figure for import car like Kizashi.Considering that the locally build SX4 compact car with half prices cheaper is sale around 5,000 unit/month.

We think that cut prices for the Kizashi by around $5,000 may bring sale number to maximum at 3,500 to 4,000 unit/month and this number will be good and will benefit both Suzuki,buyer and dealer.
