Suzuki is among the mid- table car makers in China.The company able to sold around 320,000 vehicle in the land of dragon last year.Count in Japanese marker,it ranks 4th behide Nissan,Toyota and Honda.Suzuki’s China line up largely consists of the Swift, WagonR,SX4 and Alto while import models are Grand Vitara,Jimny and Kizashi.

Current Grand Vitara is divided into three and five-door models, and are four- wheel drive.Power by 2.4 liter petrol engine.Suzuki is also plan to enhance the sales of the car by taking advantage of the use cheaper source in domestic and cheaper tax. So, the car will price lower than now (pass on savings to end consumers) .However This plans is not get official confirmation from Changhe Suzuki.

American Suzuki’s U.S. product plans are unsettled as the Japanese parent company focuses increasingly on emerging markets.

Suzuki Motor Corp. is targeting markets such as India, where it has a strong presence. In addition, the soaring value of the yen against the dollar has put more financial strain on the company’s U.S. operations.

Meanwhile, Suzuki’s alliance with Volkswagen AG has yet to deliver any shared vehicle projects since the deal was signed in early 2010. Tensions between the companies’ leaders have made headlines in recent months, and the partnership appears to be fraying.

In the United States, the Grand Vitara gets a slight rear-end change next year and updates in 2013, and the SX4 lineup gets updated for the 2013 model year, but no Suzuki model will be redesigned or significantly restyled until 2014 at the earliest.

Swift: The subcompact was supposed to be on sale in the United States by now, but the strong yen forced Suzuki to put that plan on hold last year. Chances are slim that the Swift will arrive stateside anytime soon.

SX4: A slightly restyled 2013 version of the crossover is scheduled to go on sale in late 2012. For the 2012 model year, Suzuki eliminated three trim levels of the four-door SX4 and one trim level of the SX4 SportBack.

Kizashi: The mid-sized sedan debuted in late 2009 as a 2010 model. Assuming a five-year product life cycle, the Kizashi would be due for a midcycle freshening in the 2013 model year and a redesign in the 2015 model year.

Suzuki is gathering fuel economy and emissions data from a fleet of about 10 Kizashi mild hybrid prototypes being tested in North America. The company also is working on a turbocharged Kizashi, according to one source. Both cars were shown as concepts at the 2011 New York auto show. Neither vehicle has been approved for production.

A sport wagon configuration also is under consideration, but production depends on whether Suzuki’s European unit agrees to sell the car.

Grand Vitara: Next spring, the 2012 SUV’s rear end will get new sheet metal and the rear liftgate will be reconfigured as the spare tire is removed from the rear door. About a year later, the 2013 model’s hood, front fenders and fascia will get updates, according to sources.

Equator: The pickup is a rebadged Nissan Frontier. The truck’s future hinges on whether the product-sharing deal with Nissan continues.

In 2008,Suzukifan have bee report that the Swift will launch in USA with multiple body style.We used to predict not only a hatchback Swift but also a MPV version of the Swift.But the economic crisis in 2009 made Suzuki decide that only Swift hactback will arrive USA in 2011 and later with currency problem made Swift launch delay to 2012.So sad, the latest news above say that its may have more delay.

The SX4 is dua to get replacement in Europe in late 2012 but the above report is conflict in it self when they say in above line that no redesign Suzuki until 2014 but the below line say about new restyled 2013 version.The Grand Vitara will get minorchange before get the all new in 2014 but inEurope may be early than that.

Suzuki Japan will export more SUV and add second shift to Iwata plant

Nikkei Business Daily reported Suzuki Motor Will Increase production of Sport utility vehicles at its Iwata plant in Shizuoka by Adding a Second shift to Meet Demand rising export. SuzukiFan surprise about the news because demand for SUV (Grand Vitara,Jimny) is slow dua to increase from competitor, Especially in Europe.

The source say that the facility currently produces about 350,000 vehicles a year out of two production lines and the changes will increase the capacity and productivity of the line to about 10,000 units per month.With help from developing countries and regions including the Russia and Middle East demand has been strong.

The company’s overall production volume is expected to top the year-ago levels on a monthly basis starting this month, Nikkei added.

Suzuki UK update entire range

Suzuki have been lanuched Kizashi in  Japan and extended it to the USA, Australia and more recently parts of Europe.
Next stop is Britain and while this well-appointed model is deemed by Suzuki to be a niche product – they hope to sell around 500 – potential buyers can rest assured they will be getting a car of genuine quality and style.

Tested and tuned in areas as diverse as Death Valley and English country lanes with the precision of BMW and Audi as the benchmark, the Kizashi will only be available in a single specification with a 178PS 2.4-litre petrol engine under the bonnet.

Nor will there be any manual gearbox as the company has decided to go with an automatic CVT continuously variable transmission set-up with steering wheel-mounted paddles for manual shifts.

Suzuki is claiming an average fuel figure of 35 miles per gallon and 191g/km of CO2 for an offering that is predictably well specced up – the likes of leather upholstery, electric heated front seats, cruise control, sunroof, keyless entry, air-con, CD player and seven airbags included on every car.

The left-hand drive model available for evaluation confirmed that Kizashi is a car with the dynamic qualities and punch – 0-62 in 7.8 seconds – to match its sporty looks.

Suzuki is also considering bringing a 4×4 version of the popular Swift hatchback to Britain, a prospect sparked by increasingly bad weather over the past few winters.

The company feels that if it gets the green light this version of the Swift – already on sale in Scandinavia and Germany – will be ideal for people who don’t want a full-blown 4×4 but do fancy its capability.

Unlike the Kizashi’s i-AWD system, the Swift has permanent four-wheel drive and if it comes to Britain, expect there to be a few styling tweaks.

In updating its entire range, Suzuki has either refreshed or improved the economy of the Splash mini-MPV, SX4 crossover, Jimny 4×4 and larger Grand Vitara models.

Most notable is the funky little Splash which gets the same 92bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine that was introduced into the Swift range last September. It’s noticeably quiet at tickover, provides useful performance and can return 55.4mpg with emissions of 119g/km, the same as the 1.0-litre init.

The SX4 now has a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre DDiS diesel engine offering improved performance, better fuel economy and prices  for the SZ3 1.6-litre petrol version.

And both the chunky Jimny with its cult following and the Grand Vitara now come with Euro 5 compliant engines plus reduced CO2 levels.

Suzuki has also dispensed with the rear-mounted spare wheel on the Grand Vitara, though the company is considering introducing a lower spec model for people who still want that time-honoured feature.

Suzuki Grand Vitara minorchange in europe

From mid July the Suzuki Grand Vitara only be delivered without spare wheel on the tailgate. The delivery is now on the short 3-door version with 1.6 liter gasoline engine and the longer five-door model with 2.4 liters gasoline (if desired combination with automatic transmission) or 1.9 liters diesel engine. All engines meet Euro 5 emission standard.

There is a level of equipment available (Exclusive) and has standard include alloy wheels, fog lamps, keyless start, radio/cd/MP3-speler, automatic air conditioning, privacy glass, heated seats. The price list looks as of July 1 as the following: 3-door 1.6 Exclusive: 27 799 euro, 5-door 2.4 Exclusive: 32.499 euros

Swift Plug-in Hybrid

Swift Plug-in Hybrid is ideal for drivers who travel low mileages every day and is designed to be driven primarily on electric power with its compact 660cc petrol engine used as a back up. It is also equipped with a generator to quickly charge the lithium-ion batteries when capacity level drops. Further recharging when parked is by means of a simple domestic plug socket.

The Swift plug-in Hybrid differs from some other Hybrid vehicles as it relies on its 54Kw (73PS) electric motor to travel distances of up to 20km; resulting in greatly reduced emissions. The type of small cubic capacity petrol engine used for the Swift Hybrid is similar to that fitted to Suzuki’s compact dimension and low tax ‘Kei’ cars in Japan; a sector where Suzuki has much experience and success.

Kizashi Sports saloon

Taking a leap forward into the larger ‘D’ segment; Suzuki will also exhibit the Kizashi Saloon for the first time in Europe. The Kizashi is the new flagship vehicle in the Suzuki range and will be on sale in the Swiss market this year. The Kizashi recently went on sale in Japan and North America and will also be launched in Australia in May.

The Kizashi Sports saloon is powered by a 2.4-litre petrol engine with latest design CVT transmission and intelligent i-AWD four-wheel drive technology as standard equipment.

five door Grand Vitara will get minorchange

The Geneva show will also premiere some styling changes to Suzuki’s highly successful three and five door Grand Vitara models with both models now incorporating a redesigned tailgate without spare wheel. The new more stylish shape makes the vehicle more suitable for City driving without compromising the original lifestyle and 4×4 capability of the model  now in its 22nd year and with global sales approaching three million. The 2010 Grand Vitara without rear mounted spare wheel will be on sale in the UK in July.

Suzuki USA Roadmap 2010 – 2013

2010  Suzuki Kizashi sedan. The Kizashi was rumored to receive four and six-cylinder powerplants, but the mid-size sedan will only be available with a 2.4L four-pot at launch.

2011  Suzuki Swift. the  next generation of the Swift expect to world premire in Europe  at october’s Paris motor show in 2010 north america and USA will debute New  next         generation of the Swift  hatchback by Q2 of 2011 . The entry-level subcompact Swift  model to slot in beneath the SX4 to compete against cars such as the 2011 Ford Fiesta

2011  The A V6 Suzuki Kizashi   could eventually be added to the mix, but a hybrid version of the sedan will likely bow first for the 2011 for the 2012 model year.

2012  a new version of its XL7 crossover for the 2012 . Production of the XL7 ceased earlier  in 2009 due to low demand, but the new version could ride on a  stretched        version of the Kizashi’s architecture. expect the car to be far better quality than the old model as Suzuki plans to market it in global market.

Suzuki show 17 vehicle and  500-plus sketches in‘Joys of Life’ pavilion at   2010 Auto Expo

The Maruti Suzuki ‘Joys of Life’ pavilion will showcase a car that has been conceptualised, designed and then finally developed in India for global market at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2010. At the Studio Setup subsection, Maruti Suzuki designers will demonstrate the art of sketching various concept models. A designer tends to draw up to 500-plus sketches during the time between the first brief and up to the point where the design is finalized. This subsection brings to life this aspect in a car’s life.

For instance, Maruti Suzuki designers churned out a few hundred sketches of A-star before finalizing on the particular design. A Concept vehicle – to be displayed at Auto Expo 2010 and a centrepiece at the Maruti Suzuki pavilion – had around 150 sketches on exterior and a similar number on the interior theme, before the final form took shape. The selected design is then reproduced life-size in clay.

The adjoining area houses a 1:3 scale model of a Maruti Suzuki A-star – built in clay. The 3-D scale model is essentially a semi-finished sculpt in clay which highlights the detailing that goes into the making a car. The clay modelers will be seen chiselling away on the clay model, working on the detailing of the car. To add realism to the clay form, a foil wrap helps by bringing in elements of reflection as well as profiling detail to the model. Clay modelers use a special variety of industrial clay that hardens at room temperature and softens when heated. The design of the car is subsequently finalized from this clay form.

As mentioned above, Maruti Suzuki has adopted ‘Joys of Life’ as the theme for the forthcoming Auto Expo in January 2010. The ‘Joys of Life’ concept is an extension of the theme from the last Auto Expo in 2008, where Maruti Suzuki focused on ‘Colours of Life’. Both themes ‘Colours of Life’ and ‘Joys of Life’ are in resonance with ‘Way of Life’, the parent Suzuki Motor Corporation’s global corporate philosophy.

The ‘Joys of Life’ concept is in perfect sync with Maruti Suzuki’s position as a ‘people’s carmarker’. For the last 26 years now, the largest carmaker in India has been the very reason for ‘Joy’ for countless middle-class Indian homes. the  rumore that  Grand Vitara, which is powered by a 2.4-litre petrol engine, is currently imported to India as a CBU (thereby attracting 100 per cent import duty) and is priced between Rs. 16.70-18.00 lakh for the manual and automatic transmission versions. It is widely believed  is true, Maruti will actively consider to roll out the 2010-spec version of the aforesaid model, which will not only be feature-loaded but will also be boating of technical and cosmetic upgradations In CKD unit.
