Electric version of Suzuki Swift will arrive march 2013 at the earliest

In every motorshow around the world from last year until the latest at currently going 2012 Auto China.Suzuki display a Swift EV-electric vehicle concept which not confidential that the production of that concept will arrive in 2013.Actually,the source from Japan say that the car will arrive at the earliest at March 2013.

The car is based on the Swift but it will install with the new power supply .A petrol-electric motor pair with very high performance lithium ion battery that Suzuki develop with Sanyo.It now, unconfirm about engine displacement but the source expect 660 cc or 1.2 liter petrol.the source say that if the car get just 660 cc petrol engine,customer will not worry about the power because the electric motors is very stroung and can generate maximum output from any speed,especially at low speed,So,don’t worry about the output performance would be less.

The lithium ion battery is very capable as it can run about 20-30km with the single charging.Charging time is four hours in power 110V, an hour and a half has become a dedicated 220V power supply.while fuel consumption of the generator is driven by a gasoline engine is excellent and the 28km / L in Japan’s JC08 mode.

But SuzukiFan consider as above mention system is very advance,It could aviable only inJapan but others countries may get a less performance electric and batterry system which more affordable like Toyota did with the prius v that have different specification depend on region and prices they offer.

Suzuki display the concept in nearly every counties auto show since last year make us predict that the car will be offer in nearly every markets around the world.

This not the first time that Suzuki attemp to petrol-electric motor vehicle as in 2003-2005,Suzuki sold the Suzuki Twin.But they not success about the sale volume dua to limit just 2 seat and the petrol-electric is not popular that time.

Suzuki also plans electric version of SX4 around 2015.

Next generation Suzuki Jimny will goes on sale in India late 2013 and arrive Europe in 2014,plus update about Suzuki future models

The Suzuki Jimny replacement have been unveiled in Concept car form as XA alpha concept at 2012 Delhi auto show.Altrough Suzuki did not claim that it was preview the new Jimny but everyone including SuzukiFan is expect it to spawn to the 2014 Suzuki Jimny small off roader. The new car report to equipped with engines most likely derived from Swift, will be offer with four-wheel drive and a mechanical designed for off-road.

The sources from Italy is reveal last week that the new Jimny will begin sale in India first in late 2013 and Europe sale will start in 2014,The same year that the next generation Alto arrive.

Update on Suzuki’s future models

(1)India…the Maruti Suzuki 800 replcement will start sale middle of this year,Which fallow the new dezire at February and Ertiga will hit showroom before April.

(2)Indonesia…..Will start pre booking of Ertiga at February 2012 and formal debut expect soon after that….In first year of it launch,Ertiga which got CKD component from India and Japan.The car will walk out from assemblyline in west of Jakata .As Suzuki sold 90,579 units last year (retail) in Indonesia and this year they expect 130,000 units or 43.5 percent boosted from 2011 but pruduction is limit at 150,000 units a year that means just around 2,500-4,000 Ertiga will aviable for sale each month.

(3)Japan……Rumour has it that Suzuki Japan have been started develope small diesel engine since middle of last year and should be ready by 2015.

(4)India….The Suzuki Solio and Suzuki palette have received very well respone from people at exhibition at 2012 Delhi Motor show.The car is under evaluation for India and have strong chance to arrive Indian shore.

It’s not easy to discuss about Suzuki C-segment compact car because the maker don’t have the real C-segment.Mostly Suzuki have sub compact b-segment but size of Suzuki b-segment is mostly as big as others makers compact car.We remember a Suzuki Swift/Cultus that debut in 1988 in many multiple body style including hatchback and sedan but this is a real sub compact car.In 1995 the Swift/Cultus have transform to bigger car named as Suzuki Cultus Crescent or Esteem which is a subcompact but Suzuki extented wheel base and overhang,up size to compact car and sold in North America.In 2001, they replace the Cultus Crescent or Esteem with Liana or Aerio which the car is still in sub compact size.Again in 2006-2007 they replace it with SX4,we consider it a sub compact too.

In 2011 Tokyo Motor Show,They debut a Regina concept which they said it preview next generation global compact car!!. They said the car have excellent aerodynamics, low consumption, small carbon footprint and ease of use with decent performance. Regina Suzuki has a new engine with direct injection turbocharged 0.8 L associated with a CVT gearbox that allows the green car to consume only 3.0 L/100 km and release CO2 at 70 G / km This new engine is 800 cm3 associate to Start & Stop system and energy recovery during braking. The car have only 730 kg which is a weight of Kei-car.

It Interest because first,The engine come with direct injection which not in Suzuki offering now and may be it will have in the near future.Second, it may transform to next generation Suzuki C-segment hatchback that replace the slow selling Liana hatcback that discontinue in 2007.Notthing is confirm right now but that it a rumour that suzukifan was told.

Back in recent year,we have been told about Kizashi Hybrid that under developement.We have ever received unconfirm news from insider that the car was plan to release in 2012!!.But the economic in 2008 and VW got some share in Suzuki made release date deley from first planed.

In 2011 New York International Auto Show,Suzuki hints at future hybrid.The Kizashi Ecocharge concept preview the alternative Kizashi.The car equipped with 2.0 liter 144 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque output.and 15 horsepower of a liquid-cooled electric motor and 115-volt air-cooled lithium ion battery.Mate with 6 speed CVT.

The Kizashi EcoCharge concept’s increase fuel efficiency by as much as 25 percent over the standard Kizashi Sport.Thank to automatic engine shut-down,regenerative braking, and low-rolling resistance tires.That would take it from the 30 mpg of the current CVT Kizashi—with its 2.4-liter—to somewhere around 36 mpg.

The car styling mainly based from Kizashi Sport,Finished with ambient blue lighting ( at the brake calipers,the dashboard clusters and headlight),LED daytime runing light and pearl-white colour.

It’s still at concept stage right now ,No confirmation on release date but as we have been told, it’s should be in a few year.Something is to be discuss with VW about part’s sharing as much as possible and profitable too.

Suzuki reveal Apex Concept,Aturbo concept version of Kizashi sport sedan

American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) unveiled a turbo concept version of its Kizashi sport sedan at the company’s 2011 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) press conference this evening. The turbocharged Kizashi Apex Concept showcases the link between Suzuki’s automotive division and its championship-winning motorcycles.

“Our turbo-equipped concept leverages the already-exceptional Kizashi platform and infuses it with a substantial boost,” said Steve Younan, director of automotive marketing and product planning, American Suzuki Motor Corporation. “The Kizashi Apex Concept will further elevate our flagship sedan in the U.S. among enthusiasts who crave added power and performance.”

More Power Under the Hood
The Kizashi Apex Concept features a Garrett turbocharger, an air-to-liquid intercooler, electronic boost control, and a specific engine control unit calibration to provide outstanding drivability. The system takes the Kizashi’s peak output into the 275-300 horsepower range, with a maximum boost of 8.5 psi. This powertrain is matched exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. Specific system components are as follows:
• Garrett/Honeywell 2871 R ball bearing turbocharger
• Internally wastegated 0.86 A/R turbine housing
• Oil and water cooled bearing system
• Turbine housing cast from high-nickel “Ni-Resist” material for extreme applications
• Turbine wheel cast from lightweight iconel materials for extreme applications

Key to the Kizashi Apex Concept’s performance is its air-to-liquid intercooler, purposed for more effective charge air cooling in a smaller package. The unit’s relatively small heat exchanger and circulation pump are designed to be minimally intrusive to vehicle cooling. The intercooler’s primary advantage comes from the reduction in the overall length of ducting, which results in faster throttle response and a lower turbo lag, giving peak boost faster than most air-to-air intercooler systems. For impressive engine
breathing, the Apex Concept utilizes a free flowing true dual exhaust system.

Race Bike Grapics
The livery on the Kizashi Apex Concept is based on the actual Suzuki superbike race design theme and highlights the vehicle’s bloodline connection to Suzuki’s GSX-R Superbike. For a more expressive front-end, the lower fascia wears customized LED-based foglights. The Apex Concept is shod with Yokohama S.Drive 245/35-R19 tires, featuring advanced nanotechnology micro-fiber compound to maximize traction in both wet and dry conditions. The wheels are lightweight performance alloys with a “burnt asphalt” finish to communicate this Kizashi turbo’s high level of performance. To make sure all this power is put to use in the right place, the Kizashi Apex Concept uses Suzuki’s Euro-spec high intensity discharge (HID) headlamps.

Race-inspired Interior
The Kizashi Apex Concept’s cabin receives an eye-catching treatment in black leather, with laser blue Alcantara? accents on the sport seats and steering wheel.

Suzuki Plans to debut two global models at New York Auto Show

Suzuki was report to reveal two global models at upcoming New York Auto Show (April 22-May 1).Suzuki still keep secret and only revealed little in details for the new models (or concepts).except to say that both cars will “take the Kizashi to the next level.”Suzuki fan expect they will offer turbocharged that will be an option fit by dealer or turbocharged install from the factory fro the same petrol 4 cyliner 2.4 liter engine that will increase from around 178 hp to 294 bhp if we refer to the concept that they showed at 2010 New York Auto Show.

That times,the Kizashi Turbo Concept features a 294 bhp version of J24b engine. Boost is provided by a 16G turbocharger, moderated by a Road Race motorsport.airflow through a Velocity intake. Custom engine management and new fuel injectors extract the most from the boosted airflow.

Suzukifan expect a concept/new models that can be from Wagon version of Kizashi to Small SUV to position below Sx4.Anyway stay tune for more information

The SWIFT S-CONCEPT is based on the new generation of the Swift. Suzuki created it by adding sporting flavour to the Swift’s stylish design in line with a “more sporty and exciting” theme.

Exterior design

The SWIFT S-CONCEPT is based on the new Swift, which Suzuki unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It embodies the concept of creating a premium sport compact with uncompromised performance. The body is lower and 60mm wider than that of the standard Swift, so it has such a strong presence that it doesn’t seem as compact as it actually is. Dynamic-looking front and rear bumpers and a big rear spoiler evoke high levels of acceleration and power, and 18-inch wheels give a sense of solidity and stability. The headlamps and rear combination lamps have exclusive designs.

Colours

Suzuki’s sporty DNA is reflected in a yellow body. Unique intensity and depth in the colour convey the excitement that’s one of Suzuki’s core values. Plus, the paint has a high lustre that looks different from different angles, conveying dynamism and speed. The yellow, black, and dark-grey metallic colour scheme for the exterior and interior was inspired by an athlete’s running shoes.

Interior appointments
The steering wheel, seats, and meter clusters have exclusive designs. The cabin layout provides space for four adults. Bucket seats in the front enhance the driver’s feeling of oneness with the car. Parts of the centre console are made of carbon fibre, which communicates a premium identity.

Maruti has plans to introduce Kizashi in India soon and already working on 7 passengers MPV

The country’s largest carmaker will also refurbish its three plants at Gurgaon that has an existing capacity to churn out around seven lakh cars annually. It is yet to disclose investments for the same.

We have been facing supply constraints on some models and new capacities. Refurbishment of the Gurgaon plant would help meet local demand as well as our export commitments,” said Osamu Suzuki chairman and CEO of Suzuki Motors.

“The original line in Gurgaon has gone quite old and very soon we will have to look at revamping it,” said R.C. Bhargava, chairman, MSIL. “While we start doing that, we will need some excess capacity in other plants or we will be short on supply again. Hence starting work on the Manesar plant alongside the construction of the second one there makes sense.”

“We have decided to concentrate in the 1-1.3-litre engine capacity cars where the bulk of sales originate,” said Mr Suzuki. He said the firm will also look at bigger cars.

Maruti’s current capacity between its two facilities —Gurgaon and Manesar — is about 1.2 million units and it plans to increase this to 1.75 million units by 2013

Maruti has plans to introduce its biggest sedan Kizashi in India soon and is already working on a crossover vehicles R3 capable of carrying 7 passengers along with offering a large boot space.

“We are looking at joint designing and development of components for mutual benefit. While we make cars for Nissan, Mazda, Fiat and General Motors there are not immediate plans for a similar arrangement with Volkswagen,” said Mr Suzuki.
