Suzuki third plant in India will begin production in Spring 2012
Suzuki Motor will increase passenger-car production capacity in India to 1.45 million units in 2012, which would eclipse its domestic production in Japan for the first time, according to a report Wednesday. The Nikkei business daily reported that subsidiary Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. will upgrade its two existing factories to increase capacity, in addition to building a third plant slated to start production in spring 2012. Suzuki’s annual production capacity in Japan is now around 1.4 million vehicles, according to the report
