Suzuki Australia records best ever January sales
Suzuki sold 1724 vehicles in January (representing a 2.3 percent total market share) thanks to solid numbers from the Swift and increased volume of the Alto and Grand Vitara.
Six months after its launch, the Alto recorded its best ever month with 315 sales, a performance Suzuki Australia general manger, Tony Devers, credited to its value, efficiency and safety.
“At just $12,990 driveaway, the top specification Alto GLX, which comes standard with ESP stability control, finally puts maximum safety within reach of all Australian customers,” he said.
Swift numbers were down 12 percent compared to January 2009 (881 vs 1003), while the run-out version of the SX4 lost 46 percent (131 vs 244).
Despite the downturns, Mr Devers was confident 2010 could become another record sales year for the company.
“With a full year of Alto sales, the launch of a new SX4 small car with ESP and more powerful, fuel efficient engines and the imminent arrival of the exciting new Kizashi mid-sized car, Suzuki is set to cement its position as one of the country’s most significant automotive marques as their line up in 2010 will see the arrival with new Model like Suzuki Splash and Suzuki Kizashi so on the 2011 the New swift arrive with 5 and 4 door varient.
