Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant can expend to build maximun 1.3 million units a year.
according to indian’s media report Maruti Suzuki is planning a massive expansion in India starting from revamping its Manersar plant. It intends to ramp up its manufacturing capacity at its Manesar plant to 1.3 million units.
Maruti is fighting a capacity bottleneck,” Ramnath S., vice president of research at IDFC-SSKI Securities Ltd., said. “The increase in capacity augurs well for the company as there is a huge volume growth expected in the Indian car market over the coming few years.”
He said Maruti has been known to optimally use its capacity and will be in a position to produce an additional 100,000 to 150,000 cars a year above the installed 1.25 million by April 2012.
Maruti has two factories in Haryana–Gurgaon and Manesar. Currently, the Gurgaon factory can produce 700,000 cars a year while Manesar plant can make 300,000 cars, it said.
