Suzuki Alto achieves 72 mpg on mileage marathon

A Suzuki Alto has just achieved a rather impressive 72mpg on a mileage marathon on a trek between Darwin and Adelaide in Australia.

Good, but not as startling as the endurance of the drivers who covered the 1,900 miles with the air-con off in temperatures up to 43 degrees.

Amazingly, the Alto managed 141mpg in city traffic.
